Christmas & Thanksgiving 2023 with Lydia Mar Manila

Lydia Mar Manila (LMM) held one of its biggest Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations last November 24, 2023 at the AMOSUP Convention Hall.

Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

Paris was the theme of the evening, as portrayed in the Netfix series Emily in Paris. Guests arrived in their best outfits of bold colors, crazy prints, and runway ready ensembles that were inspired by the show. The party was marked by both fashion and fun. But more importantly, the spirit of Freedom, Equality, and Friendship––values espoused by the French motto––were felt throughout the night.

Thanksgiving

Lydia Mar Manila Chairman, Alberto Gomez, opened the festivities with a short speech that gave a heartfelt thanks to the crew and the land-based staff of Lydia Mar Manila. He also thanked the families of LMM’s seafarers who have always supported the crew as they furthered their careers with the agency and its clients. LMM’s principals also echoed similar sentiments of gratitude, as each of them delivered their Christmas greetings. Meanwhile, Lydia Mar Manila’s president, Rodelita Homecillo, also took the time to recognize our principals, thanking them for the trust they have placed in LMM.

Welcoming a new partner

In his speech, Martin Scheerbarth, Lydia Mar Athens, Managing Director, formally introduced Nova Marine Carriers and their Head of Personnel, Capt. Leone Mento.

Nova Marine Carriers and Aug. Bolten formed a joint partnership in 2021, with planned technical and crew management to also be handled by Lydia Mar in Athens. Lydia Mar Manila has been crewing a handful of Nova Marine Carrier vessels since the partnership began, and we look forward to supporting the partnership even further.

A night of festivities

Games, raffle draws, and performances were held throughout the evening. Despite being oceans away, we also found ways to include our crew onboard. In addition to a slide show of their photos, seafarers at sea were also eligible for the raffle draws––congratulations to all the winners!

A party isn’t a party without some dancing and letting lose! The team of LMM, along with crew and their families, principals, and guests hit the dance floor for the rest of the night. Being able to dance, laugh, and share in everyone’s joyous energy was a heartwarming holiday experience for everybody.
