Your Guide to the Recruitment Process at Lydia Mar Manila 

We’ve been posting a lot of job openings for seafarers lately, so to help you out as you apply, we’ve outlined how our recruitment process works. Whether you are a first-time applicant or simply curious, here is what you can expect: 

Step 1: Internal Review

Before looking elsewhere, we prioritize our existing applicant talent pool. If you previously filled out our application form and agreed to let us keep your data, then you’re already in our pool. When a new opening matches your rank and experience, you’re one of the people we may call.  

Step 2: Job Posting & Partner Sites

If we don’t find a match in our pool, we post openings on: 

All applications are consolidated into a safe, secure, and confidential database

Step 3: Shortlisting (The 7-Day Window)

Our team reviews applications based on the minimum requirements we post with every opening

  • Timeline: We aim to shortlist candidates within 7 working days
  • Follow-up: If you haven’t heard from us in a week, it may mean you didn’t make the cut. But don’t lose hope; it may also mean there’s a high volume of applicants. Feel free to message us for an update! 

Step 4: The Initial Call

If shortlisted, a Crewing Officer will call you to: 

  • Verify your CV and sea service  
  • Discuss the salary, contract duration, vessel type, and other details 
  • Schedule your technical interview.

Applicants may also use this call to gather more information about the company, the principal, and the job opening.  

Step 5: Online Technical Interview

To save you time and travel costs, all technical interviews are conducted online. You do not need to visit our office. We will notify you of the results as soon as possible.  

Step 6: Principal Endorsement & Final Interview

Once you pass our technical screening, we will endorse you to the Principal and give them a copy of your application, CV, and technical interview results. Some owners prefer a final one-on-one interview. If required, we will coordinate a schedule that works for you. 

Step 7: The Job Offer

Congratulations! Once the Principal approves, we will extend to you the formal job offer for your review and acceptance.
